Teddy bear goal early, game winning goal late

December 2, 2023 - Yorba Linda Hockey hosted its 2nd Teddy Bear Toss game on December 2nd against the rebooted Saddleback United team. Now known as the Rangers. Yorba Linda players came out fast. Every skater pushing to get the teddy bear goal. Which came at 4:28 into the game when Freshman Travis Heim scored his 4th goal of the season; assisted by Sophomores Joon Kim (5) and Malia Penrose (1). After 125 teddy bears and stuffed animals were collected, Yorba Linda continued to throw rubber at a the Saddleback net. The Wranglers got one back before Sophomore Max Shirai got his 3rd goal of the season through a Heim screen and passed the Saddleback netminder with 1:28 left in the game. Makai Badillo (3) assisted on the goal. Yorba Linda improved to 6-8 with the win.
